This Week's Theme: Emotion

Several good suggestions, but I've decided to go an "easy" route with my first challenge, choosing the theme of "Emotion", suggested by Elisha. I've already got some creative ideas to make this challenge fun!

If you're a photographer and would like to join me in this week's challenge, leave a comment with your name and the blog/web address where you'll be posting your photos...remember, in order to participate, you've only got 6 days to shoot and post your photos (by next Tuesday!)!

In the meantime, here is something cool I found yesterday at the backdoor of our church building. My research tells me that this is a Fowler's Toad...I've seen thousands of these toads living on the OBX, but I've never seen one this color, and I never knew that they could actually climb and hang upside down from stuff (like a frog).

Here's your helpful fact for the day: according to the guys at HowStuffWorks (Tricia and I listen to their podcasts when we travel), toads don't cause warts. That still doesn't give me any good reason to touch them, though...

A Couple of Things

1) I apologize for not posting the A's to my photo Q&A post...that will be coming shortly.

2) In order to help inspire my creativity and propel my photography, I'm going to be inviting my readers to suggest a photography theme every week. On Tuesday of every week (I may take a week off here or there), I'll post asking my readers for suggestions for a theme for my photography...I'll spend that week creatively shooting that theme and post the photos at some point (hopefully (I'll try really hard) by Tuesday of the following week). I'm especially looking for themes that I can use as I shoot my normal life (my daughter, my wife, my pets, my home, my neighborhood, my friends, etc.).

For example, you might suggest my theme for the week be "sleep" or "orange" or "people eating ice cream while hanging upside down from a tree branch". When, on Tuesday mornings, I post asking for a theme each new week, you'll have 24 hours to make a suggestion, and then I'll pick one theme for that week and have about 6 days to shoot and post a few (or maybe a lot) of photos based on that theme.

So, read on to the next post (down underneath this one) and leave a suggestion or two for me!

Thanks!

Nate

Student Portraits - Bryanna

Bryanna is my niece. Would you believe that she's only graduating the 8th grade (which is, apparently, a bigger deal than it was when I graduated 8th grade)? The beach was a little chilly that day, but she was a good sport!

Congrats, Bry!
